Binge+ And Xtreme Plan: With the changing times, both Airtel and TataPlay (earlier TataSky) have announced their TataPlay Binge+ and Airtel Xtreme premium service. These new services offer a host of features such as smart set-top boxes, support for popular OTT services, add-on services and an app to access content on smartphones and tablets. Along with this, both are providing the facility to watch regular cable TV channels on TV through set-top boxes.

Smart Set-Top Box: Both cable service providers are offering Android based set-top boxes. Apart from this, both the set-top boxes also provide the facility to watch OTT content along with regular TV channels.

Google Support: These set-top boxes come with Google services including Google apps like Play Store, Chromecast support and more.

Google Assistant: Being Android-based devices, both the set-top boxes come with a voice-enabled remote that allows users to interact with Google Assistant and search for content using voice commands.

Support For 4K Content: Like other similarities, both Airtel Xtreme and TatPlay Binge+ support 4K resolution. This means that users can watch 4K movies and shows on their TVs through the OTT platform.

OTT Services: Both Airtel and TataPlay support popular OTT platforms including Netflix, Prime Video, MX Player and more.

Support Regular TV Channels: These set-top boxes are hybrid devices that allow users to watch both OTT content and regular cable TV channels.

Subscription of TV Channels: Like the regular set-top boxes of both, users will need to purchase channel subscriptions from their respective service providers. Also, both of them offer channel packs, ala-carte options to their customers.

Android and iOS Apps: Both Airtel and TataPlay have dedicated Android and iOS apps available where users can watch OTT content after subscribing to the respective service.

Subscription Plans: Both the companies are offering the same set top box for OTT service and the basic cost for them starts from Rs 149 per month. However, on TataPlay, if you want to watch content on both smartphone and TV, it will cost you Rs 299 per month. Also, if you add Netflix, the membership cost will be Rs 379 per month. Airtel does not offer Netflix in the membership plan.
