Delhi Covid-19 July-August 90% Samples Detected BA-2 And BA-5 Variants


Delhi Covid News: During genome sequencing in Delhi in July and August, the BA.2 variant of this virus was found in 90 percent of the Kovid-19 samples. Official data has been released in this regard. In July, a total of 1271 samples were analyzed in the lab and BA.2 variants were found in 1133 samples. Whereas BA.4 variant was not found in a single sample. At the same time, BA.5 variant of the virus was found in 138 samples.

Found this variant in August
In the month of August in the capital, 2,064 samples were analyzed and 90.35 per cent of them were found with BA.2 variants. While 199 samples were found with BA.5 variants. At the same time, no sample was found with the BA.4 variant. Delhi saw an increase in the number of Kovid cases in August. Experts blamed people for not following the Kovid protocol for this.

Experts believe that now that the number of daily cases of infection has come down to less than 100, the DDMA may waive the fine of Rs 500 for not wearing a mask in public places. Also, it can gradually reduce the deployment of staff and equipment in hospitals. In fact, there is a steady decline in the number of fresh Kovid-19 cases in the city.
