Indian University Now Will Give Degrees In Collaboration With Foreign Universities


Indian & Foreign University Collaboration: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has agreed to start joint and dual degrees in collaboration with foreign universities. After which now 48 universities of the country including Banaras Hindu University, Haryana Central University, Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University Uttarakhand, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi, Maulana Azad National Urdu University will now also get foreign university degrees.

University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. M Jagdish Kumar says that 48 universities have agreed to conduct joint and dual degree studies with foreign universities. At the same time, work is being done on this by other universities. He said that under the UGC Regulations 2022, Indian and foreign universities will award dual and joint degrees under a written agreement. Other conditions have been included in the agreement ranging from admission fees, courses, syllabus, visa, internship placement. Now the students of the country will get a chance to get the degree of foreign university. Whereas foreign students will also be able to come to India and study.

Let us tell you that in the past, students had to go abroad to study the degree program of a foreign university. It used to cost lakhs of rupees. Due to which students avoided studying from foreign institutions. But now in the new rule, only 30 percent of the courses will get a chance to get a foreign university degree.

Twin Program

In the twin program, the student will have to go to a foreign university for a two or three semester studies in some courses. This will be a kind of student exchange program. In this, 30 percent courses or credits will have to be obtained from a foreign university.

joint degree

In the joint degree, an Indian and a foreign university will run the degree program together. Degree in this will be from Indian University. Also the name and logo of both the universities will be there. In this, 30-30 percent credit will be from both the universities.

dual degree

In this, one degree will be Indian and the other will be a foreign university. Both universities will conduct degree programs. In this, both the universities will issue different degrees. In this too, one must obtain a credit score of 30 or above in both the programmes.
