IPL Auction Update: In the Mega Auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), South Africa’s Under-19 team batsman Dewald Brevis got many times more money than expected. Mumbai Indians bought this young player for Rs 3 crore in the evening session on the first day of the auction. The special thing is that the base price of Brevis was only 20 lakh rupees, but many franchisees made bids and in the end Mumbai bought them by paying the highest price. Brevis is also known as ‘Junior de Villiers’ and ‘Baby Abby’. AB de Villiers himself has praised his batting many times. He performed brilliantly in the recently concluded Under-19 World Cup.

Teams from Chennai and Punjab also bid for this player, due to which the price almost tripled. Dewald Brevis, known as the ‘Baby AB’ of the South African Under-19 team, broke several records in the Under-19 World Cup. He scored 506 runs in the World Cup with the best batting and broke the previous record of Shikhar Dhawan. He scored two centuries and three fifties in the World Cup and his batting style was similar to the legendary AB de Villiers.

Brevis is a big fan of AB and has also played cricket for the same school. The young batsman has also been mentored by AB and has been praised on many occasions. AB said that Brevis still has a long way to go. Brevis had earlier said that he is a big fan of Royal Challengers Bangalore, but he was also happy to be associated with Mumbai. He is a big fan of Virat Kohli and follows him. It remains to be seen how they will perform in the IPL.
