Shikhar Dhawan Is Better Captain In Terms Of Records Than KL Rahul, IND Vs ZIM

IND Vs ZIM: BCCI has made a shocking change in Team India for the three ODI series to be played against Zimbabwe. In place of Shikhar Dhawan, now the command of the team has been handed over to KL Rahul. However, questions have arisen regarding this decision of the board. KL Rahul is still waiting for his first win as captain. At the same time, under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan, India has first defeated Sri Lanka and then West Indies.

The Indian Cricket Board has kept Rahul as the vice-captain in all three formats along with Rohit Sharma and hence he was given the captaincy in place of Dhawan for the Zimbabwe tour when he was fit. But India had to face defeat in all the four international cricket matches that Rahul has captained so far. These include one Test and three One Day International matches.

Dhawan, on the other hand, has led the Indian team in six ODIs, out of which the team won five matches. Apart from this, Dhawan has also captained in three T20 International cricket matches in which his record is one win and two losses.

Dhawan’s record is better

Dhawan captained the Indian team for the first time in July last year. He was also the captain of the team in the recent ODI tour of West Indies. While India did a clean sweep in the three-ODI series against West Indies, they won the series 2-1 against Sri Lanka. Last year, the Indian team had lost 1-2 in the T20 series against Sri Lanka.

Rahul had led the Indian team for the first time in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the South African tour in January this year. Under his leadership, India had to face defeat in all the three ODIs played against South Africa.

Question about Rahul

In the second Test match of this tour, due to the then captain Virat Kohli not being completely fit, Rahul got the captaincy for the first time in Test cricket but India lost the match by seven wickets.

Rahul has not played any international match after February this year. He was to play in the series against West Indies but could not play due to being found positive for Kovid-19.
