The T20 World Cup is to be held in Australia later this year. Pakistan’s team had managed to reach the semi-finals by performing brilliantly in the last T20 World Cup. However, in the last one year, there have been many changes in the Pakistan team. But before the World Cup, there are speculations about the return of veteran batsman Shoaib Malik. But Pakistan captain Babar Azam has ruled out any such possibility.
The middle order of Pakistan’s team is not that strong. Last year too, Pakistan had kept Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik in the team for the same reason in the T20 World Cup. Although Hafeez has now retired while Malik was dropped from the team due to poor form.
Malik has played 124 T20 matches for Pakistan. Malik has shown good form in Pakistan’s domestic T20 tournament. Despite this, there is no place left for Malik in the Pakistan team.
There is no place for Malik
Babar Azam has appreciated Malik’s contribution. He said, “Now we are looking at the future. There is no chance of any change in the team. When your senior players leave, you need focus to replace them. The contributions of Hafeez and Malik have been significant. we will miss them.tut
Babar Azam further said, “Now we have players like Asif Ali, Khushdil Shah and Iftiar Ahmed. They are filling the place of those senior players. We want to give them enough chances. These players have performed for Pakistan.
