UP Covid-19 Guidelines: The Uttar Pradesh government has given one hour relaxation in the ongoing night curfew due to Kovid-19 infection. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said on Sunday, “Night curfew will now be applicable from 11 pm to 6 am instead of 10 pm.” Earlier, the night curfew in the state was from 10 pm to 6 am. The relaxation in night curfew comes a day after the Election Commission announced relaxation in schedule for the assembly election campaign in five states, citing significant improvement in the situation in Kovid-19.
The Election Commission on Saturday relaxed restrictions imposed due to Kovid-19 on campaigning for assembly elections in five states, allowing padyatras with a limited number of people and also extended the campaign time by four hours in a day. . According to the commission, the election campaign can now be done between 6 am and 10 pm instead of 8 am to 8 pm, in which Kovid appropriate behavior and protocol of the State Disaster Management Authorities will be followed. This will give candidates and political parties four more hours to campaign in a day.

The Election Commission, while announcing the election schedule for Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab and Manipur on January 8, had banned direct rallies, road shows and padyatras due to the rise in the cases of Kovid-19. The Commission is reviewing the pandemic situation from time to time and giving some relaxations.
